Spontaneity

The extent of doing anything unplanned these days is straying from the grocery list to buy grass hopper cookies. An unplanned trip to Vegas was surly in the makings... Haylee called Sunday morning with news that our dear friend, Marina, was going to stop in Las Vegas on her way from Disneyland to Utah with her family.

I haven't the nerve nor heart to let my kids know that Marina and Jenya's 3 very lucky kids from Moscow made it to Disney land before they did.

So with Dan at church meetings, Jacob enlisted as my co-pilot; Oscar and Henry were graciously received at my sister's household, and we were off within 2 hours of the phone call.

Seeing Marina again and meeting her wonderful husband and beautiful children was one of the best days of my life. I told Marina, though I don't know how our dwelling arrangements will be in the next life, I sure hope that we are, if not neighbors, living much closer than we do to each other now.

Thank you Prete family for hosting this memorable reunion. It was so good to see you all.

  1. Yay! A trip to Vegas on the fly! It looks like you had a great time and I'm so glad you got to see Marina & family. I'm also glad you took pictures of the bridge because it was also dark when I drove over it on the way to UT for the big move. Happy (belated) birthday to Henry - what a handsome fellow!
